During the year three new assets classes were added to the register, namely Sustainable management of living natural resources, Pollution Prevention and control, and Clean transportation. Swedbank established the Green Bond Framework in October 2017 to begin issuing green bonds in the global capital markets and to enable and support sustainable financing in our home market countries. Proceeds from green bonds are used to finance assets in Swedbank's Green Asset Register.

During 2018 Swedbank's Green Asset Register included assets worth more than SEK 10 billion.
